Equine veterinary is a labor sector with high demand, which needs professionals specialized both in horse care and to assist the regular veterinarian in case of emergency.

The current market demands professionals who have knowledge in caring for horses, in all their daily needs (hygiene, nutrition, psychology and maintenance of facilities), and who are familiar with certain technical notions for, if necessary, and as we said, help the veterinarian in an intervention or in a specific treatment of the horse.

Once you finish your equine veterinary training, you will be able to work in equestrian centers, stud farms, dressage centers, equine activity centers, equine clinics, equine residences or service companies for the equestrian sector.

What does an equestrian veterinarian do?
Also known as a horse veterinarian or equine veterinarian, is a doctor who specializes in working with horses. The equestrian veterinarian works with horse breeders, ranchers, farmers, owners of competitive or companion horses.

Among its functions are:

Protect and ensure the welfare of horses.
Visit horses on farms or ranches to treat them right where they live without having to bring them to your office.
Offer advice on the diet, breeding, performance and stabling of the horse.
Diagnose and treat diseases.
Treat injuries and perform surgeries on horses if necessary.
Prevent diseases, advising on adequate hygiene measures and the use of vaccines.
